The Intensive Italian for Academic Purposes course has two complementary and over-lapping aims: first, it offers students a review of the major grammatical structures they have already studied in the Italian language courses they have taken on their home campuses; second, it gives students the opportunity to develop and practice the type of language skills they will need in academic settings. Each week of the course is dedicated to the study of a theme, such as Italian Universities, Opera, Antifascism and Resistance. Readings and viewings on these themes are the springboard for in-class discussion and analysis. 0.5 credit will be awarded for this course.
The mandatory Writing Workshop is taught by Prof. Ivan Tassi and meets for two hours once a week. It is designed to improve the students’ writing skills and to help them with the assignments in both “corsi interni” and Unibo courses. This course requires students to write weekly. The first part focuses on the reading and comprehension of Italian literature; the second is devoted to the preparation for finals in E.C.Co. and Unibo courses.
